Precalculus Math 40S

This course is a continuation of the Grade 11 pre-calculus course and meets the requirements for further studies in mathematics, science and engineering at university and community colleges. The course is designed to give the student the necessary background in algebra, circular functions, and other non-algebraic functions, such as exponential and logarithmic, that are required to be successful in a calculus program. Topics covered include transformations of functions, trigonometry, exponential and logarithmic functions, permutations and combinations. The Pre-Calculus Mathematics 40S course culminates with a provincial assessment worth 30% of the final Grade.

Completion of Precalculus Math 30S (Grade 11) with a recommended minimum final mark of 65%.
