The Wapaskwa Virtual Collegiate (WVC) is an accredited online Manitoba high school. WVC partners with First Nation schools who are member communities of the MFNERC. The WVC course calendar offers over 35 different courses for the 2021 – 22 school year. Approved students have 24/7 access to WVC’s media-rich course content as well as daily scheduled live sessions. WVC teachers have redesigned and redeveloped courses to provide more flexibility in our online delivery for students and schools. Our course landing pages are prepared with dynamic summary posts, of the materials covered to help students stay on track.
All WVC teachers are certified to teach in Manitoba and utilize the online system’s tools to present content and conduct live exchanges. This semester, live daily 60-minute sessions are scheduled Monday to Friday. Students can take the WVC courses, allowing for greater flexibility in their academic environment in conjunction with what is taking place at their local school. WVC teachers provide student support in other ways, such as phone, email, live paging, and scheduled small group or individual tutoring.
Registration:
All applicants must access our online courses daily, so a device (computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone) and connectivity are required. Students should be prepared to shift to learning from home should schools be forced to close, so internet and computer access from home is a requirement. Registration is entirely online. Fees:
Registration is free for MFNERC member schools for the 2021 – 22 school year upon renewal of the annual partnership agreement (Memorandum of Agreement – MOA).
